The value of RHPA's Board of Advisors goes well beyond a conventional role in guiding the firm's policies. The Board, including four members with collective presidential experience of over 45 years in five institutions, actively supports our search teams.


Norman E. Dewire served as President of the Methodist Theological School in Ohio (MTSO), a graduate school awarding both masters and doctoral degrees, from 1986 to 2006. Previously, his leadership positions included General Secretary for the General Council on Ministries of The United Methodist Church. Dr. Dewire is president of the Board of Trustees for the West Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church and a trustee of Ohio University; the Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management; and the Commission on Theological Education of the University Senate of The United Methodist Church. Dr. Dewire received his B.A. in Education from Ohio University, a Master's from Boston University School of Theology, and a D.Min. from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. In addition, he was given the Public Service Award for civil rights by the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Attorney General.



Dennis C. Golden has served as President of Fontbonne College, St. Louis, Missouri since January, 1995. Following his graduation from The College of the Holy Cross and service as an officer in the Marine Corps, he served as Assistant Dean of Men at The Cross, 1966-1969; then as V.P., Dean of Students at Framingham State University, 1969-1982; as V.P. for Student Life at Duquesne University, 1982-1987; and as V.P. for Student Affairs at the University of Louisville, 1987-1995. Dr. Golden received his Masters in Guidance and Psychology from Assumption College in 1969 and his Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Boston College in 1974.

Thomas H. Langevin

Thomas H. Langevin is President Emeritus of Capital University, which he served as president from 1969 to 1979. Since 1979 Dr. Langevin has run a higher education consulting practice with a specialty in organization and management. Dr. Langevin, who has extensive experience in institutional wide assessments of presidents, governing boards and strategic and long range planning processes, holds a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska. In 1992 Tom co-founded the Registry for College & University Presidents.



George J. Matthews served for 10 years as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Northeastern University, and continues today as Chairman Emeritus. He also serves as Chairman and CEO of Collegiate Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (CES), Chairman of the Gorbachev Foundation of North America, Managing Partner of Hickory Hill Advisors, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pinnacle Training Corporation. Dr. Matthews has established over 35 businesses, and currently serves in numerous directorships. He was also the first alumnus of Northeastern University to have a building dedicated in his honor.

Adele L. Wells

Adele L. Wells, is the Principal of Adele Wells & Associates, a Washington, DC - based consulting firm specialized in the field of development and institutional advancement. Prior to establishing her own firm, Ms. Wells was Senior Executive Consultant with Ketchum, Inc. one of the major firms in the development field. Prior to joining Ketchum she served as Executive Vice President of Development for the College Fund/UNCF. From 1979 to 1991 Adele Wells served as Vice President of Alumni and University Relations for Georgetown University. Before joining Georgetown University, Ms. Wells was Director of Corporate Development for Cornell University. Ms. Wells was educated in Switzerland and England and holds an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters from Georgetown University. She resides in Washington, DC.
